Nintendo’s sales have been greatly attributed due to key releases such as Splatoon 2, ARMS and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Last month in July, Nintendo outsold more Nintendo Switch systems than its competitors, the PS4 and Xbox One.
“Nintendo Switch was July’s best-selling hardware platform”, NPD analyst Mat Piscatella said and is contributing great value to the gaming industry as a whole. In addition to the superb performance in sales for the Switch, Splatoon 2 was the top-selling game in July.
“Year to date, hardware spending has grown 20 percent versus 2016 to $1.6 billion,” Mat Piscatella said. “Performance of the Nintendo Switch continues to be the primary cause of the year-on-year gains.”
