The Super NES Classic Edition has become this year’s holiday must-have item, becoming one of the fastest selling systems for Nintendo. The demand for the system has been overwhelming leading to stores selling out on online inventory before it’s official release in a matter of minutes.
For those who missed out on pre-orders and are considering purchasing a Super NES Classic Edition on launch day, we’ve listed which stores have confirmed to have stock availability for walk-in customers.
Target
Target will be carrying a limited quantity of the Super NES Classic Edition in-store, (of course). Minimum of 20-50 units on launch day. We recommend arriving there early as they will be available starting tomorrow and it’s still unknown if it’ll be handled as a ticketed event.
Toys’R’Us
Toys’R’Us unlike other retailers decided not to open pre-orders due to the overwhelming demand for the system and has made it fair for those who truly want to get their hands on it, on a first-come, first-served basis.
The toys-to-life retailer will be carrying a minimum of 30 consoles per store and stock is dependent on the store volume of choice. Tickets will be provided if necessary 15 minutes prior to the store opening and we highly recommend arriving there really early!
Best Buy
Best Buy has announced that it will be carrying the Super NES Classic Edition on Friday in about 1,000 of its stores across the country. Stock quantities do look promising as it will be a ticketed event, starting at 7 a.m. local time and will only be available in-store and not online.
Stores will only hand-out tickets depending on the stock quantity available at each respective store, limit of one per customer.
GameStop
With previous launch day events, GameStop typically puts out a sign outside of its stores to advise customers the amount of systems available and is usually done on a first-come, first served basis.
We’re expecting stores to have a very limited quantity of Super NES Classic systems available for walk-in customers and enough supply to fulfill pre-orders.
Walmart
Some Walmart stores run on a 24-hour service and is possible that they could be selling the system at midnight as they’ve done with prior releases. We definitely recommend contacting your local store for more information regarding their plans for launch.
We wish you all the best of luck on tomorrow’s Super NES Classic Edition launch and don’t forget to tag us when you receive your system! We’ll be sharing your pictures tomorrow on Twitter!
