Need help finding the armor from the Champions’ Ballad DLC? Well, we’ve got you covered with anything you need help locating! Here is the ultimate guide that will help you find all the new gear pieces in the DLC.

To begin the questline to find these pieces of armor, you will have to hunt down the scattered journals that will lead to six different black treasure chests. To start the journey for the loot, head towards the Deya Village Ruins (east of the Great Plateau & Scout’s Hill). Once you are in the area, read the journals that will trigger the search for the armor pieces.

Ravio’s Hood

The search for Ravio’s Hood from A Link Between Worlds will be labeled as the quest EX Treasure: Merchant Hood. To begin the hunt, warp to the Shrine located in the Spring of Courage. The EX chest can be found just under the stone dragon’s right hand; buried underneath it. However, it is unobtainable without the use of Magnesis to dig it out. And voila, you will now be in possession of the pink bunny helmet.

Island Lobster Shirt

To find the Island Lobster Shirt, follow the clues for the quest known as EX Treasure: Garb of Winds. The location will be near the Lake Tower, so we suggest traveling there first. Traveling South from the top of the tower into the closest body of water (west of Cora Lake) will allow you to reach the chest. The chest will be buried deep in the water where you would need to use Cryonis to reach the chest, followed by Magnesis to collect the Island Lobster Shirt.

Zant’s Helmet

To locate Zant’s Helmet from Twilight Princess, follow the clues for the quest known as EX Treasure: Usurper King. You must first travel to any of the Shrine’s near Dueling Peaks and travel South from there to Tobio’s Hollow. To find the chest from here, locate the area of dead trees, where the chest will be buried alongside the swampy area. Apply Magnesis to pull out the chest and retrieve Zant’s Helmet.

Phantom Ganon Skull

This piece of gear may be the hardest one to locate of the bunch. To begin start North from Lake Floria, and the waterfall that branches out leftward (the largest one) will be the one to climb. Using Zora’s armor, swim to the top of the largest waterfall and the chest will be located underwater at the base of it. Apply Magnesis to pull the chest out of the water and then you will have possession of the Phantom Ganon Skull.

Phantom Ganon Armor

Warp to Faron Tower to begin the search for the complimenting armor set to the helmet. Glide West towards Sarjon Bridge and from there you will find the chest located under the bridge. Sarjon Bridge is located between two waterfalls, so it should be easy to spot. Once found, use Magnesis to pull the chest out of the water and obtain the gear set.

Phantom Ganon Greaves

To find the final gear piece of the Phantom Ganon set, travel to Qukah Nata Shrine. From this Shrine travel southwest of the nearby waterfall and head out to Ebara Forest. Once in the forest search for the broken stone bird statue and the chest will be buried around it. To find this stone statue you must look around for the Floria Bridge, where the location should be clear.

Royal Guard Cap

Obtaining this gear set will be a little trickier than the others. To begin, set out for the Riverside Stable where you will need to locate the journal by which you will trigger the quest chain. The rumors in the journal will lead you to Hyrule Castle, where the whole set will be located.

To find the actual cap, you must make your way towards Hyrule Castle. Once inside you will need to reach the top of the castle closest to triggering the boss fight with Ganon. Instead of going into Sanctum (which is where the boss fight is triggered) the player must make their way upward and onto the second floor. On the second floor will be a room covered mostly in malice, signifying that the player is close to Ganon. Make your way to the far back side of the room, where a soldier statue will stand tall and next to it, the chest.

Royal Guard Uniform

Make your way down the Castle and find the dining hall, following the leading hallway to the dining room will lead to a small corridor. Inside this corridor, you will be able to locate the chest with the Royal Guard Uniform (and on the wall near it will be a Royal Guard Sword for your troubles).

Royal Guard Boots

The final piece of the Royal Guard set can be found by locating the Guards’ Chamber. For those of you in the castle prior to this, re-enter the castle and this room will be near the beginning. For those of you still outside the castle, do not fret, as there is a way of entering the Guards’ Chamber from the outside. There’s a tunnel entrance outside the castle area where you’ll have to use Cryonis to form a water wall and get into. Once inside the chambers, make your way to the left of the entrance which will lead to a large room where you will find the chest waiting for you on atop a wooden shelf.

Ancient Horse Rumors

To close off the gear hunt for the Champions’ Ballad DLC is the hunt for the ancient horse gear. There are two pieces to this set and to find them, travel to the Highland Stable. Find the book of rumors around the stable to trigger the final questline.

The Ancient Saddle will not only make your horses look elegant, but it will also grant a special ability. To find the saddle, you must travel to a mysterious location where a horse spirit lies. To find the horse gear, travel southeast towards the Malayna Spring. Locate the giant flower and behind it will be the chest, which is underground. Enable Magnesis to claim the chest and obtain the ancient saddle. This saddle allows the player to call forth his horse from wherever the player is on the map, making it very useful in situations where you are stuck in the middle of the desert.

The Ancient Bridle is said to be found south of Hyrule Ridge, beneath a cherry blossom tree at a mountain where creatures gather. Make your way up to Satori Mountain and the chest will be buried underneath the cherry blossom tree. Enable Magnesis to obtain the final gear piece, and you now have possession of the Ancient Bridle.

And there you have it, you should now have access to all the new gear/equipment featured throughout the Champions’ Ballad DLC, happy hunting! We want to thank our friends Austin John Plays and Zelda Universe for helping us by contributing to this guide.
