In the last few years, we’ve seen a drought in Metroid games, however, that might change as a new rumor has surfaced from the popular forum, Resetera.
According to Resetera user Mocolostrocolos, A new 2D Metroid game is currently in the works, and it’s still very early in development. The user apparently reported on Metroid: Samus Returns before it was officially revealed. The studio or platform in which this new Metroid game will be released is unknown as of now.
With rumors, we’d like to remind our readers to always stay cautious as nothing is real until it’s officially announced, however, we’ll follow up as more information is made available.
Hopefully, we’ll see this and more 2D Metroid games arrive on Switch as the system has performed exceptionally well thus far.
