Nintendo has updated their post by now mentioning the online service for Nintendo Switch to be available in 2018.
Nintendo has shared new information regarding the upcoming online paid service for Nintendo Switch on their official website. As mentioned in the post, the paid Nintendo Switch Online Service will begin starting in 2019 and will no longer be free once it launches.
*Nintendo Account required. Online services and features. including online gameplay, are free until the paid Nintendo Switch Online Service launches in 2019.
We’ll make sure to follow up as more information is available. Strange as to why the service has been delayed until the following year, however, great news for everyone as we’ll be able to play online for free until 2019.
