Super Mario Odyssey, Producer, Mr. Yoshiaki Koizumi answers fan questions relating to the game including the popular topic regarding Toad’s head, Mario’s missing belly button including the relationship among Mario, Princess Peach, and Pauline, among others.
Regarding Mario’s missing Belly Button, Mr. Koizumi answered by saying:
“Well, to be perfectly honest, I didn’t really expect that to be a topic among fans. Once I heard that people were talking so much about Mario’s belly button, it made me start to think about whether we should revisit the topic on the design side.”
For a while now, fans have wondered whether Toad’s head is a hat or a head, and this is what he had to say:
“So that, as it turns out…, is actually Toad’s head. I’m going to have to leave it to all of you to figure out exactly how that works out. Maybe there’s something inside…”
Mr. Koizumi was asked to describe Mario’s relationship with Peach and now, Pauline and this is what he had to say:
“I would appreciate it, if we could repect the privacy of those 3 at this time.”
