In spite of the title’s odd crossover premise, Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle has been quite the boon for Ubisoft. Kingdom Battle’s success alone has accounted for around 8% of Ubisoft’s sales for the entire past year.

That’s not the only success for Mario and the high-volume vermin – Kingdom Battle is also currently the best selling 3rd party title on the Switch. It’s even beating out megahit titles like Doom and Skyrim. It just goes to show the power of the Mario branding. With Nintendo’s second year with the Switch lining up to be one filled with 3rd party blockbusters like Dark Souls Remastered, can Ubisoft hold onto its title? We’ll have to wait and see!
