Think Pokémon catching takes too long in Pokémon GO? Well, there’s a new trick that can help speed up the process but it has its own risks when doing so. The new trick comes to us from the geniuses over at TheSilphRoad subreddit.

The trick goes as follows: with one finger, start dragging the Pokéball menu icon towards the right, and with another, throw the Pokéball at your target. If you’re skilled enough, you might be able to pull it off with just one finger. If done successfully, you’ll have the Pokéball menu open while the catch animation is occurring. Now, tap outside of the menu, and when it appears, hit the run away button. You’ve now skipped the entire catching animation and all the following menus, but have still gained the stardust and candy from catching.

Here’s the catch though. Or perhaps, the fail-to-catch. This trick doesn’t ensure you’ll catch the Pokémon. So, if that ball was set to fail, doing this trick won’t auto-catch it for you, and you’ll have to battle the Pokémon and manually try to catch it again. So it’s not quite a game-breaking exploit, but it’ll definitely come in handy for catching large groups of easy to catch Pokémon. Check out a video demonstration below for what people are calling the “drive-by” method.

As expected, with this new method, a patch will be required to correct this bug. For continued news on Pokémon GO, as well as tips and tricks, stay tuned to NinMobileNews.
