Before continuing, we want to preface this by reminding folks that rumors shouldn’t be taken as an official confirmation, however, all the contents of this rumor should be taken with a grain of salt.
According to Emily Rogers from ResetERA, Nintendo is set to announce a Smash Bros title for Nintendo Switch later this year. It’s unknown whether it’ll be a direct sequel to the game or a port, however, Emily has mentioned that the game will be getting new content and it has re-worked assets from the existing Wii U/3DS content.
As we’ve seen in the past, rumors have been circulating about the possibility of a definitive edition for Smash Bros., but for now, it’s unclear as to what will be officially announced and what new additions will arrive with it.
In a few circumstances, Emily Rogers has had a good track history when it comes to leaks and reports, however, do note that this is still very much a rumor and not an official confirmation in any means. We’ll be sure to follow-up if more news breaks out regarding this alleged Smash Bros. rumor and hopefully, we’ll hear more about this sometime at E3.
