GameStop’s former CEO, Paul Raines has passed away yesterday due to a cancer relapse. Paul Raines, who has led GameStop for the past eight years resigned last November, after experiencing “a medical reoccurrence” of a brain tumor. Michael K. Mauler was then appointed as the new CEO for the video game retailer.

It’s truly a sad day when a member of the video game industry passes away. Our deep condolences go out to his family and loved ones. GameStop has issued a press release, confirming this unfortunate news.
