Wonder Festival 2019, also known as WonFes, started this week in Japan and out came some Nintendo-related figure announcements.
Good Smile Company, known for their Figmas and Nendoroids, announced three new figures: a Splatoon/Splatoon 2 Inkling Boy Figma, an Amaterasu Nendoroid from Okami, and 1/7 Scale of KOS-MOS based on Xenoblade Chronicles 2. The Inkling Boy figures portray them with their Splattershot weapons, while Amaterasu was portrayed in a cutesy, “chibi” way. Only the concept arts for both have been shown for both. Meanwhile, you can see an uncolored prototype for KOS-MOS in Good Smile’s WonFes gallery.
Meanwhile, Kotobukiya unveiled three new figures at the event: Mega Man X, Leaf with Squirtle, and Professor Oak with Bulbasaur. Only the first two have prototype figures are being displayed at WonFes.
Kotobukiya is not the only one sculpting new Pokemon and Mega Man figures, either. Sentinel Toys is creating a Mega Man X Riobot. They also displayed three new Polygo figures: Mewtwo, Pikachu, and Charizard. These three are interesting because unlike the other highly detailed figures, the Polygo ones have a “low poly” design.
