Splatoon 2 sold extremely well in Japan within the first week of launch.

Famitsu reports that the game sold 670,955 copies within the first three days of its release (includes physical, download cards and hardware bundles), making it the biggest debut for a Nintendo Switch game and the highest selling Nintendo Switch game to date!

This does not include digital sales, however, comparing the original Splatoon game for Wii U within 4 days of its release (156,610 copies), Splatoon 2 has surpassed initial expectations and can possibly surpass the original Splatoon in lifetime sales (1,512,789 copies).

Famitsu has also provided new numbers for hardware sales for Nintendo Switch in Japan, now at 1,205,087!

We’re just blown away with the success Nintendo has had with the Nintendo Switch and we’re eager to see what the future holds for the system and the games that will come along with it!

Let us know what your first impressions are of Splatoon 2? Have you started your journey in the single player campaign or started your training for the upcoming Splatfest in Splatoon 2?
