Nintendo has wrapped up its second “Feh Channel” livestream for the Fire Emblem: Heroes mobile game. The broadcast revealed plenty of surprises for new and veteran summoners to celebrate the game’s 6 month anniversary in August. While seasoned players tackle the challenging new Arena Assault battles and Tempest trials, newcomers have lots of new login bonuses and hero appearance rate changes to help build their roster.
At Midnight PST on July 28th, summoners can dive into the Nohrian Summer event. Four heroes from the kingdom of Nohr get brand new swimsuit outfits and weapons. Xander, Corrin, Elise, and Leo will be keeping things cool in new Voting Gauntlet battles starting on August 1st.
Starting August 7th players get their first hero summon in each focus for free, and a new Bound Hero Battle featuring Cecilia and Lilina. Clearing each difficulty level earns players orbs, giving them several chances to cash in on their skills.
August 7th also marks the beginning of new log in bonuses, netting summoners 2 orbs per day for 10 days. These bonuses are featured twice: from August 7th to the 22nd, and again from August 22nd to September 11th. A new “starter support” hero fest also launches on August 10th, with and added log in bonus to net 20 more orbs during the event.
Rounding out the new features going live on the 7th is a change to appearance rates for 3- and 4-star heroes. Players have a 58% chance for more powerful 4-star heroes and a 36% chance for 3-star heroes.
On August 8th, Heroes gets an update to version 1.6, featuring new “arena assault” battles. Players battle through multiple auto-rotating maps, competing for high score and “sacred coins.” The purpose for this new reward type is still a secret, but players should grab as many as they can. Version 1.6 also introduces a new “catalog of heroes” feature. This gallery allows players a look at their heroes, and highlights those they’ve met but yet to grab.
Later in August, players get access to a new Tempest Trial featuring heroes from Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. The trial features a new scoring system and multi-map auto-battles, and new bonus allies. A new Grand Hero battle also goes live on in late August. Valter: the Dark Moonstone and his exclusive “cursed lance” skill will feature in the event.
