The Nintendo Switch has become one of Nintendo’s fastest selling systems since its launch, becoming a fan favorite for new and old games alike. In a new interview with Mainichi Newspaper, translated by Nintendo Soup, Nintendo comments about the current Nintendo Switch shortages around the world and its unpredictable future due to its high demand in sales.
As Nintendo mentions in the interview, they’re trying their best to meet the demand for the popular console, however, they have no control as to how quickly they can push production for the system since they’ve hired a third-party manufacturer in China, which uses similar supply components for other companies including Apple. Because of this, it’s difficult to manufacture more systems in a timely fashioned which is the reason for production falling behind schedule.
Nintendo Switch is estimated to sell over 10 million units worldwide by the end of the year and due to the unprecedented demand, Nintendo is unable to predict when shortages will end for the system.
