YouTube user NOATEST #63 uploaded a video today featuring what appears to be a first look at version 5.0.0 of the Nintendo Switch operating system.
While we can’t yet confirm the legitimacy of the the video, it shows several exciting new features for the console. Most significant is the apparent ability to create online voice lounges, inviting players from either the Switch console or mobile app.
Also prominent in the video is a Breath of the Wild dashboard theme. We do get a look in the system settings as well, where the theme appears alongside the existing black and white options.
It appears that Switch users may be able to organize content and media more easily on the dashboard, for one, and you can clearly see pins for several media apps grouped together.
Nintendo has not confirmed if any of these features are in the works, so the possibility remains that this video features a very convincing fake OS.
The system update leak is fake. The console has Mario Kart 8 DX downloaded digitally, which takes up 6.8 GB of space, but only 2GB of System Memory is taken up, less than 3.2 GB of the SD card storage is taken up, and only 0.9 GB of Cloud storage ist taken up.

We’d also like to point out an important detail stated by Twitter user BigRedN in which he mentions the console featured on the video shows Mario Kart 8 DX as a digital download with a file size much smaller than its true size, spread across System, External, and Cloud storage. Mario Kart 8 DX digital download file size is 6.8 GBs.
We’ll continue to watch for new information on this as it surfaces.
