Japanese peripheral manufacturer Columbus Circle revealed a new peripheral to turn you (and a friend’s) Nintendo Switch into a multiplayer arcade cabinet. The “Double Side Arcade Stand” debuts exclusively in Japan sometime in May 2018.
Based on the pictures and description, the stand will allow players to attach two Switch consoles to either side of a single stand, while placing four joy-cons into slots similar to the hitboxes on a traditional arcade cabinet. The effect is that of a classic cabinet, though it’s tough to say how practical it will be from the images we’ve seen.
If you’re itching to recapture a classic arcade experience, and have a friend looking to do the same, this may be worth an import just for the novelty. The Doubled Side Arcade Stand is available for pre-order now on Play Asia for $79.99.
