A week after the game’s release, Splatoon 2 is finally allowing inklings to choose a side for the upcoming Splatfest next Friday.
The game’s first official Splatfest is themed after two of the most popular condiments: mayonnaise versus ketchup for all regions. Pearl threw her support for mayo, while Marina backed the tomato-based condiment. Within minutes of the official announcement in-game, fervent inklings have already started going vocal about their condiment and idol of choice. They will finally get the chance to settle the score next week once the splatfest begins at 9 p.m. PDT/12p.m. ET on August 4 until 9 p.m. PDT/12 p.m ET the next day.
The splatfest theme was revealed last week when the game released, but players were not allowed to pledge support to their cause until today. Inklings will have an entire week to cast their ballot in Inkopolis, open up the ability slots of their respective team t-shirts, and engage in some fierce trash-talking.
This marks the second Splatoon 2 related splatfest following its world premiere, which saw Team Ice Cream winning over Team Cake.
