Megaman is finally back! After years and years of hiatus, Megaman 11 has been announced during Megaman’s 30th Anniversary Stream. A new game in the classic Megaman series is coming to Nintendo Switch. The game has a 2.5D art-style and features new robot masters, new powers, and a new story. Megaman also has a new super ability, shown off at the very end of the trailer, where it seems that for a limited time, his Mega Buster becomes stronger than ever!
We also finally have confirmation that the mysterious artwork from Megaman Legacy Collection 2’s art gallery is indeed for a new game. This as-of-yet unnamed weapon drops a line of four blocks down from the top of the screen onto enemies. As a first for the series, not only does Megaman’s color scheme change when he changes weapons, his physical appearance is altered too. Megaman 11 doesn’t have a definite release date yet, but it was announced that it’s coming in Late 2018. While that’s still quite a bit away, knowing Megaman’s legacy will continue on will help make the wait that much easier.
Megaman 11 wasn’t the only news, however, as also announced for the Switch were plenty more Megaman games. All of Megaman X 1-8 and both Megaman Legacy Collections were announced to be coming to Switch as well, all launching early this upcoming year. The addition of the Rewind feature, which lets players turn back time and try difficult sections over and over again, will no doubt be helpful in introducing new players to the franchise. Playing through all of the Classic and X series is sure to help eat up the time until Megaman 11 comes out, so it’s a welcome treat from Capcom to have all of them on the way.
There’s definitely more Megaman content on the way, so keep an eye on NinMobileNews for continuing news on Megaman 11 and more.
