Kirby Star Allies may only be a month away, but it looks like everyone’s favorite pink puffball still has a few surprises hidden up his adorably tiny sleeves. Famitsu recently shared with us a snippet from their latest issue, and though it’s a bit fuzzy, there’s enough for us to make out a few new additions to the latest Kirby title. Check it out!

First off, the big news: Two new copy abilities! Festival Kirby makes its franchise debut and Baton Kirby finally makes the jump from the Kirby anime to a proper game. The colorful Festival Kirby, from what it seems will be able to use the streamers on his head to strike his foes and summon strobe lights, while Baton Kirby can stretch out his weapon to bash faraway foes. These two powerups join the previously revealed Artist and Spider Kirby to make for running total of four new abilities so far. Quite the repertoire for one so small and pink.

And along with something new, comes something old made new! Cook Kirby and Plasma Kirby are also confirmed to be making a return, the former of which appeared last in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as Kirby’s Final Smash. As with its classic incarnations, Cook Kirby gathers up all objects and enemies on screen to make a scrumptious stew, which blasts out healing items once completed. About time for the hungry orb to finally learn to feed himself. Plasma returns relatively unchanged, although a screenshot appears to reveal that Kirby can fire electric blasts upwards now as well, instead of being limited to only to launch them straight ahead.

Finally, classic Kirby enemies Pon and Con are returning, from all the way back in Kirby’s Dreamland 3 for the SNES. They seem to be outfitted with the armor and insignia of the unnamed villainous team, meaning that, unlike the brainwashed Metaknight and King Dedede, this fox and raccoon duo joined up willingly. Next to their section also appears a massive monolith of some kind, but we can’t quite make out what exactly it’s meant to be, though it does resemble the insignia of the evil team.

And that’s all we have from the latest Kirby reveals. For more news on Kirby and all things Nintendo, keep an eye on NinMobileNews.
