Kirby was already not adventuring alone, but now it looks like some of his closest friends (and enemies?!) are going to be joining him when Star Allies shows up very soon. Announced in today’s direct were Dream Friends, other playable characters from the series history that can join Kirby on his latest quest throughout Dream Land. The classic trio of Meta Knight, King Dedede, and Bandana Dee were included off the bat, of course. Surprising everyone however, were Kirby’s Animal Buddies Rick, Kine, and Coo, prodigal blob Gooey from Dream Land 3, and most surprisingly, Kirby Super Star’s big bad, Marx. These characters are accessed from a special area in the game, with Meta Knight, King Dedede and Bandana Dee being in the base game. The others will be coming in the first of many updates coming for the game post-launch, with even more Dream Friends promised in the future.
