During the latest financial report, Nintendo has announced that they’ve delayed the release of Mario Kart Tour, now expected to launch later this Summer on mobile devices. Nintendo has issued a statement in their quarterly earnings report, listed below:

In the smart-device business, Mario Kart Tour was scheduled to be released this fiscal year, but in order to improve quality of the
application and expand the content offerings after launch, the release date has been moved to summer 2019. As we endeavor to develop future planned applications, we will also focus on continued service operations for applications that have already been released so that consumers can enjoy playing them for a long time.

The game was originally expected to release during the “fiscal year ending in March 2019”, however it has been pushed back for quality improvements after launch. Unfortunate news, but we’re still very excited for its release. Let us know your thoughts about its delay in the comments below.
