To celebrate the Chinese New Year, Team17 has released a new update for Overcooked! 2

This new update adds a new map and kitchens, new recipes, new chefs, and a brand new game mode! In this seasonal content, you’ll be transported to a new map to take on seven new kitchens. These new surroundings are themed on the Chinese New Year and includes a dancing dragon which will follow you and your friends in the kitchen. So be careful!

As reported earlier this week, Team17 has also added new chefs in this update with The Ornate Dragon and the Chinese New Year Pig.

In addition to new content, included in this update is the brand-new ‘Survival Mode’. In this mode, every dish you serve will add seconds to the timer and you’ll be cooking against the clock to survive for as long as possible! Survival Mode will be available for all kitchens of the main game, the Surf ‘n’ Turf DLC and both seasonal updates.

As requested by fans, a a ‘replay’ button is now available on the results screen, allowing players to challenge each others to beat their high score. Lastly, Team17 has detailed other bug fixes patched into this update which we’ve included below:

  • Fixed an issue where the highlight might disappear after selecting an invite from various screens.
  • Fixed an issue where plated recipes might not appear correctly following a player disconnecting in online games.
  • Fixed an issue with the audio on the main menu not playing correctly.
  • Various minor bug fixes and improvements.

The update is available now on Nintendo Switch so get back in the kitchen, chefs! Let us know what you think of this new update in the comments below.
