Earlier this week, Nintendo of Japan announced that the New Nintendo 3DS was discontinued this week, and now Nintendo has confirmed to Eurogamer that the New Nintendo 3DS will also be discontinued in Europe as well.

The New Nintendo 3DS introduced many cool features including the option to change faceplates and grew popularity around the world because of it.

Nintendo had also addressed this concern in North America to the online publication, GameIndustry that North America will not be affected since “the model in question was only sold in limited quantities as special offerings.”

“This announcement does not affect Nintendo of America territories, as the model in question was only sold in limited quantities as special offerings. There are no changes to the sales status of New Nintendo 3DS XL, Nintendo 2DS or the upcoming New Nintendo 2DS XL, which launches on July 28.”

The Nintendo 3DS XL and the Nintendo 2DS XL will still be available for purchase in Europe.
