Sony Pictures has announced that the film based on Capcom’s Monster Hunter franchise will launch in theaters on September 4, 2020.

Directed by Paul W. S. Anderson, known for directing the Resident Evil movies, the Monster Hunter film will star Milla Jovovich and Tony Jaa. The film will also feature actors like Tip “T.I” Harris, Meagon Good, Diego Boneta, Josh Helman, Jin Au-Yeung, and Ron Perlman.

Like any video game adaptation, the plot is a little different from the video game series. Here’s the plot description for the film:

Behind our world, there is another — a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity. When Lt. Artemis (Jovovich) and her loyal soldiers are transported from our world to the new world, the unflappable lieutenant receives the shock of her life. In her desperate battle for survival against enormous enemies with incredible powers and unstoppable, terrifying attacks, Artemis will team up with a mysterious man (Tony Jaa) who has found a way to fight back.

Monster Hunter will launch in theaters on September 4, 2020.

Are you excited for this Monster Hunter film? As a longtime Monster Hunter fan, I’m interested to see how the big hunt translates to the big screen. Tell us your thoughts!
