Ever needed a 1 TB of microSD storage for your mobile device or Nintendo Switch? No? I figured not, but if you are… well it’s finally happening.

Starting later this April, Micron and Western Digital’s SanDisk brand will be selling a 1TB microSD card at retail later this year. The SanDisk microSD card will be sold at a whopping $449.99. Pricing for Micron’s 1 TB microSD card is yet to be announced, however, expected to be sold in the second quarter of this year.

According to Western Digital, the SanDisk 1 TB microSD card’s performance has been cited up to 160MB/s read speed, significantly faster than Micron’s card at 100MB/s. The Micron card’s max write performance is 5MB/s faster at up to 95MB/s.

Should you buy this? That all depends on how much storage you’re needing and whether it’s the right kind of investment for you.

As you may already know, Western Digital’s SanDisk 1 TB microSD card is more expensive than buying a standalone Nintendo Switch system, however, we’d only suggest getting one if you prefer going digital and you so happen to own almost every Nintendo Switch game on the Nintendo eShop.

For now, if you’re needing to upgrade your Nintendo Switch storage, Amazon has a great selection of memory cards on sale now. For all things Nintendo, stay tuned to NinMobileNews.
