Devil May Cry’s producer spoke to VG 24/7 in a new interview about the possibility of bringing Dante as a playable fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for Nintendo Switch. In this interview, Hidaki Itsuno from Capcom mentioned that most characters who are brought to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tend to be characters who’ve already been on a Nintendo system in some form.

As you may already know, Devil May Cry has never been on a Nintendo platform, however, Hidaki Itsuno suggests Capcom should port the series on Nintendo Switch in some shape or form. Here’s what he had to say about the topic:

“Well, you think about it… I’m pretty sure that they… all the characters in Smash at least have some game on a Nintendo platform, right? Well, that’s the thing. Devil May Cry has never been on a Nintendo platform. So it seems like the first thing to do would be to get Capcom to put Devil May Cry on a Nintendo platform in some way, shape or form – whatever game that might be.”

As mentioned previously by Super Smash Bros. Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai, all characters from the Fighter’s Pass has been chosen and was made entirely by Nintendo and approved by his team. The chances of Devil May Cry’s Dante joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate seems quite slim, however, its always a possibility, either in this game of future iterations of Smash.
