With the year coming to an end, Niantic has announced a few new features coming to Pokémon GO. If you’re on a device running iOS 11 on iPhone 6s or newer, you’ll be able to experience AR+ in Pokémon GO.

AR+ will add a new immerse experience by allowing Trainers to walk up close to a Pokémon to see to how they’ll look in the real world. However, this adds a new level of difficulty to the game which Pokémon will run away if they become aware of the Trainers getting close. By sneaking up close to a Pokémon, a new awareness meter will appear next to the Pokémon, and if the meter fills up, the Pokémon will flee.

You can also obtain an Expert Handler bonus if you manage to sneak up on the Pokémon and catch it. With the addition of AR+ to Pokémon GO, Trainers will also have a better chance at earning Great and Excellent Throw bonuses when using the new feature including an all-new Expert Handler bonus that awards even more XP and Stardust.

This is just one of the new additions coming to the game and more to come later next year.
