Rolly roguelike Tumbleseed goes on sale today at the eShop for $9.99, just in time for the 4 Peaks Update.

The update includes its namesake “4 Peaks,” which is a set of four levels based from each biome in the normal adventure mode. But unlike the adventure mode where the level layout is always changing, each level for this mode stays constant. Players will have to successfully complete the first peak before moving on to the next one. Developers believe that these unchanging levels should allow players to properly strategize.

In addition to “4 Peaks,” players will also have three quests per mountain to complete. Completing these will unlock new passive auras that are usable in both “4 Peaks” and adventure mode. Examples of the new auras include no damage when falling into holes and keeping current thorns if damaged.

Also, live today is the local two player battle mode, available only on the Switch version. Made as appreciation for their Switch player-base, the two player mode is a “King of the Hill” style mode where players must accumulate points while staying in the highlighted area in order to win. Players who die will respawn with a random power based on whether they’re winning or losing. This mode is playable with any combination of JoyCons and Pro Controllers on both handheld and docked mode.

The last major part of the update is the weekly challenges. Each week, players will have to beat a specific mountain. They have the entire week to keep trying because the mountain stays constant the entire time. It is currently unknown what players will get if they successfully complete the challenge.

The 4 Peaks Update also contains other minor tweaks that should improve gameplay.
