Update 8/22/17 at 12:27 PM ET: PayPal is now officially supported in all regions including North America, Europe, and Japan.
The Japanese eShop has been updated including a new payment option known as PayPal.
PayPal customers can now purchase their favorite Nintendo Switch games using the PayPal method for easy and quick payment. Users will also be able to use PayPal to add funds and at this current time, it can’t be used for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS systems.
The new PayPal payment method is currently available for Japan, North America, and Europe still pending. (Post has been updated and PayPal is now supported in North America and Europe)
