Yuji Naka, one of the head masterminds behind Sonic the Hedgehog, has joined the Square Enix team. He will continue on game development over there and aims to continue making enjoyable games.

As of right now, it’s currently unknown what projects Yuji will be taking on, but we should know very soon. Naka is best known as the former head of the Sonic Team at Sega. Naka left Sega in 2006 to start his own independent studio, Prope. The team released a cardboard-based game on the Wii, Let’s Tap, but it was clear that Naka wanted to tackle higher profile game development. The team also worked on some Digimon games, but at SE Yaka will be able to bring his genius to the team.
