Earlier this week, 7Levels officially announced their upcoming Switch-exclusive Castle of Heart in a new trailer. The studio behind the game was interviewed by the folks at Nintendo Life in which they discuss development, their relationship with Nintendo and why they decided to make Castle of Heart a Nintendo Switch exclusive.

Regarding development for Castle of Heart on Nintendo Switch and their relationship with Nintendo, Here’s what they had to say:

NL: How did your relationship with Nintendo start?

7L: Castle Of Heart development started before Nintendo Switch was officially announced. At the prototype stage we met with Nintendo representatives several times. They liked the idea enough to allow us to publish the game for Switch. We’re in contact with Nintendo continually, we inform them about our progress and we continue to receive tremendous support from them.

NL: What Nintendo games did you play growing up?

7L: My adventure with Nintendo took off when I got SNES, bought from beyond the Western border. I can remember spending hours playing Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country or The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past. That’s how I’ve became a Nintendo fan and still am this day. If I had to choose one game that influenced my life the most, it’d be The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time, without any doubt.

Their decision in making Castle of Heart exclusive to Nintendo Switch, here’s what they had to say:

NL: What influenced the decision to make it a Switch exclusive?

7L: We’re massive fans of Nintendo consoles, which may seem a bit strange in Poland, where systems produced by this giant were never that popular. By focusing exclusively on Switch, we tried to please this particular groups of gamers, (which we belong to ourselves) and that gives us an advantage over the multiplatform titles.
