Gematsu has confirmed that Tomy is working on the first new installment into the Zoid’s series in 12 years.
The new series being worked on is called Zoid’s Wild. Believe it or not, we have not heard anything new surrounding the franchise in over a decade. This is not a one-off experiment either, as it seems that they are going all in on reviving the series. Along with a newly confirmed Nintendo Switch game, they also are planning a toy line and anime that will release this Summer in Japan.
From there, the series will develop into a comic and then into a smartphone application. Further details about the Switch title were not announced at this time. The toyline, however, was discussed in depth. Each toy will come with a frame, weapons, and additional accessories that will allow the builder to create their own toy that resembles a life-form. The first two toys are known as Wild Liger and Gilraptor and will release sometime this June.
