Shantae, the dancing, hair-whipping, animal transforming queen of indies, is making her way to Nintendo Switch. Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Ultimate Edition will mark the purple-haired dancer’s Switch debut. And that debut is being made with a physical copy! Shantae’s latest adventure will be available in stores on May 8th, with an additional Day One edition available as well. The Day One Edition includes “Risky Beats”, which is the game’s soundtrack CD and a 100-page artbook. Also included in the Ultimate edition is an exclusive new outfit for Shantae: a blue bathing suit.
Both versions of the game will include the game’s three DLC packs – Pirate Queen’s Quest, Costume Mode, and Friends to the End. These modes all include additional campaigns beyond the main game’s story mode, giving players that much more bang for their buck. Play as Shantae’s arch-nemesis, Risky Boots, in her bid to take over Sequin Land in Pirate Queen’s Quest. Costume mode gives Shantae three new outfits: Ninja Shantae, Beach Shantae, and Officer Shantae, each with their own gameplay style and campaign. Finally, Friends to the End sees Shantae’s friends Bolo, Sky, and Rottytops setting forth on their own adventure to save Shantae from a villain from her own mind.
