Police in Taiwan arrested a man in his home for allegedly selling fake amiibo cards, seizing 6,850 different cards in the process.

The man, identified only by his last name Wu, supposedly purchased the fake amiibo cards from the Chinese website Taobao. Wu was selling each card at NT$16, or around 52 cents in US Dollars.

The arrest came after the authorities received a tip about someone planning to sell the cards. A search warrant was eventually issued due to potential copyrights violations totaling about NT$3,000,000, and the number of counterfeit cards purchased. Wu already sold a large number of these cards prior to his arrest.
