This past week has been buzzing with discussion as to what Game Informer senior editor Imran Khan was referring to in last week’s Kinda Funny Games episode. Khan mentioned that Nintendo is reviving a game that’s thought to be dead. Turns out, that game might be Microsoft Studios’ canceled game, Scalebound.

According to sources from Nintendo Insider, Nintendo is working with Platinum Games to resurrect Scalebound. It is unknown whether the project has been restarted from scratch or if it’s being scaled down to be compatible with the Switch.

The trademark for the game was abandoned in 2017 due to Microsoft not submitting a statement of use. As such, it is believed that Nintendo might have swooped in to resurrect the game, and handed the work to Platinum Games for development.

Head over to Nintendo Insider to read their full report about the rumor. Keep in mind that nothing has been confirmed officially, so take everything with a grain of salt.
