Nintendo has released new information regarding the Nintendo Switch online service, which was originally slated for a Fall 2017 release, but is now postponed till 2018.
With this new information, Nintendo has outlined the cost of the online service, along with what’s included in the subscription in three payment options starting with a $3.99 for a 1-month subscription, $7.99 for 3-month subscription and $19.99 for a 12-month subscription to the service.
Included with this online subscription, members will have an ongoing access to a library of classic games with added online play, which has been updated from its initial announcement.
Back in January, Nintendo announced that members of the online service would’ve had access to one SNES/NES game a month, but they’ve retracted their statement, changing and improving the online service by providing more content for their users to enjoy as long as their still subscribed members.
Nintendo has issued a statement to Kotaku, providing more information regarding this change:
Nintendo Switch Online subscribers will have ongoing access to a library of classic games with added online play. Users can play as many of the games as they want, as often as they like, as long as they have an active subscription.
Paying members will also have access to the online lobby & full version of the voice chat app, exclusive e-Shop deals, and online gameplay. A free, limited version of the online lobby and voice chat app will be available for download in summer 2017.
Due to the Nintendo Switch online service being delayed until 2018, players can continue to enjoy the limited trial of connecting and playing online for games such as ARMS, and the upcoming Splatoon 2.
